The campsite is only a 2 minute walk from the main event area, so you’re never too far from the action! If you’d prefer to stay in the comfort of the Avon Tyrrell house itself, you will be even closer to the main events, less than a minutes walk! There are also a limited number of Scandinavian style wooden lodges available, which are also only a small distance from the event area.

Access to Avon Tyrrell is Available All Year Round
At Avon Tyrrell, we have two purpose built Mountain Biking tracks taking you through the forest areas of site. Both tracks are approximately one kilometre long and looped.

We also have a full loop that takes you around the site.
There is Mountain Biking available for every ability level from complete novice to intermediate and we also have a small ‘black’ loop for expert riders.

Mountain Biking is accessible in a number of forms:

  • Pay and Play – bring your own bike and ride the courses. Purchase a ticket from reception and you can use the track all day.
  • Guided Sessions – Avon Tyrrell offers guided skills sessions with qualified Mountain Bike instructors.
  • Residential Guests can hire bikes (up to 14 at a time). Please note, this MUST be arranged before your visit so that we can ensure there is a member of staff available to fit your bikes, sign them out and see them back in.
  • A pump and gravity track and some north-shore in the wiggly woods, part paid for by the previous Big Bike Bash events.
