What's On: Non-Competitive Events

Pleasure Loop - This will be an non-competitive ride around the perimeter trail of the Avon Tyrrell grounds. There will be points for entering but no 1st, 2nd or 3rd points.

Stunt Riding - This will be an area cordoned off to allow people to practice riding small stunts. This will be anon-competitive event with no points to be allocated. The stunts will take the form of ramps, balance beams and small see-saws that people can ride over to improve their skills. There may be demonstrations from experienced riders.

Workshop Lessons - Trained bike mechanics will show the correct way of performing common repairs and give maintenance tips.

Orienteering - An event for the non-bikers who still enjoy the challenges of the outdoors.

Face Painting - The clue is in the title. One for the younger children.

Treasure Hunt - Another one to keep the younger children entertained.

Bike Jumble Sale - The perfect chance to pick up a bargain or sell off those bike bits that have been cluttering the shed.

Nature Trails - Discover the wonders that Avon Tyrrell have to offer.

Randonee - Given the beauty of the area it would be rude not to allow some people to go off and explore on a longer ride outside of the Avon Tyrell grounds.

Lake Jump - Apparently some people like the idea of riding up a ramp, performing stunts and then landing in the water.

Jump site and Pump Track - We hope to have a purpose built pump track for people to practice their jumps and possibly have short races for BMXs.

Giant Games - Avon Tyrell have a number of these that may be useful.

Mini Football - A cordoned off area for people to kick a football around.

Young Childrens Play Area - A ball pit, toy area and colouring in for the younger children. No over 12s allowed.

Lucky Dip - Small prizes for small people

Bubble Machine - Provides bubbles for children to chase.

Water Slide - A wet piece of polythene on the ground with some water on it for people to slide along.

Sock Wrestling - Each child has an oversize football sock put on their left leg. They are put in an arena and have to get the socks off the other children. Last one wearing a sock is the winner. Careful matching of childrens ages and sizes required.

Professional Presentations - Talks and presentations from various professional bodies such as the Police, Cycle Touring Club (CTC), British Cycling Federation etc.

Cycling Demonstrations - There will be demonstrations of Trials Riding, BMX and any other disciplines that we can attract.
